Species account from Moths of Glamorgan
(Gilmore, Slade & Stewart, 2009):

A large moth reminiscent of a Crambid. Recorded mainly from the east of the county, though not in good numbers. The larvae feed on bur-reed and other aquatic plants. The adult is on the wing in July and August.
